Regal will be running what it's calling " Star Wars Saturdays" every Saturday from December 19th to January 9th, the first 500 audience members seeing the movie in IMAX at a given theater will receive a special ticket with collectible art. You can purchase tickets for the marathon through Fandango right here.ĭifferent theater chains are also offering their own kinds of promotions. Fans will get a special lanyard for the event (shiny!), which will include 2D versions of the previous films, followed by The Force Awakens in 3D. The Star Wars Marathon Event will let fans watch all six of the previously-released movies starting December 17th, followed by some of the first Force Awakens screenings. Of course, it wouldn’t be a staggeringly huge franchise movie event without a number of insane franchise screenings, and Star Wars has that covered on many fronts. The film is available to viewed in an array of different formats, including IMAX 3D (some sequences were shot with IMAX cameras), regular 3D, good old-fashioned 2D, and Dolby Vision, the new high-dynamic range theatrical format the recently debuted with Tomorrowland and Inside Out. Screenings are starting as early as 7PM on December 17th - that’s the Thursday before the official opening date - and judging from the way many of the websites are loading right now, demand is extraordinarily high.

They’re on sale now through various outlets (we were able to confirm availability on Fandango, , and the Arclight Cinema website), and other theaters chains should be coming online momentarily, including AMC, Cinemark, Regal, and the Alamo Drafthouse. The tickets had been scheduled to become available after a new trailer aired this evening during Monday Night Football, but it appears plans changed. Abrams’ upcoming film are now on sale across the globe.

Has Disney convinced you to see Star Wars: The Force Awakens ? Well, then your time has come: tickets for J.J.
